Say Goodbye to Flies, Mosquitoes, and Cockroaches by Boiling These Leaves

We’ve all experienced the annoyance of dealing with flies, mosquitoes, and even cockroaches invading our homes. Their constant buzzing, itchy bites, and the potential health risks they pose can turn any peaceful day into a real irritation.

We recommend: Keep mice and cockroaches away with this foolproof duo for your home.

But what if there were a natural, safe, and effective way to repel these annoying invaders—using ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen?

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 15 bay leaves
  • 10 cloves
  • 1 two-liter plastic bottle
  • 1/2 cup regular shampoo
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar

Instructions

1. Mosquito Trap:

Dissolve the sugar in hot water, then add the yeast and stir well.

Cut the top off the plastic bottle and invert it to form a funnel.

Pour the mixture into the bottom half, then place the funnel on top.

Set the trap in areas where mosquitoes are most active.

2. Cockroach and Fly Repellent:

Boil the bay leaves and cloves in a cup of water for 10 minutes.

Let the mixture cool, strain it, and pour it into a spray bottle.

Spray in areas where you often see cockroaches or flies—like kitchens, pantries, or bathrooms.

3. All-Purpose Repellent Spray:

Combine the shampoo, vegetable oil, and white vinegar in a bowl.

Mix well and pour into a spray bottle.

Use it on surfaces or corners where insects tend to appear.

These homemade methods are not only effective but also safer and more eco-friendly than commercial chemical repellents.

Keep in mind that these remedies work best when paired with good hygiene practices—like keeping your home clean and eliminating standing water where insects breed.
