Trump responds to bishop’s confronting inaugural prayer sermon

During Donald Trump’s second inaugural prayer service at Washington’s National Cathedral, Episcopal Bishop Mariann Budde delivered a bold sermon urging him to show compassion for marginalized communities.

Addressing concerns from LGBTQIA+ individuals and undocumented immigrants, she criticized recent executive orders on immigration and gender identity, calling for mercy and humanity in policy-making.Trump and Vice President J.D.

Vance remained expressionless during the address, while Republican Representative Mike Collins dismissed Budde’s remarks online.

Later, Trump bluntly stated he “didn’t think it was a good service,” fueling further debate on the bishop’s message and its impact.
