Sally Field’s worst on-screen kiss might be a surprise

Legendary actress Sally Field, 76, recently shared a surprising behind-the-scenes moment: her worst on-screen kiss was with none other than her former boyfriend, Burt Reynolds.

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Field hesitated but ultimately named Reynolds, her co-star in Smokey and the Bandit, saying, “It just was not something he really did for you,” adding that there was a lot of “drooling.” Field and Reynolds dated for five years after meeting in 1977, but she later revealed they hadn’t spoken in the last 30 years of his life.

In a 2023 Variety interview, she explained, “He was just not good for me in any way.”

Despite a difficult past, Field remains a celebrated and active actress, known for roles in Forrest GumpSteel MagnoliasMrs. Doubtfire, and more.

In recent years, she’s appeared in Dispatches from Elsewhere and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
