Tragic Plane Crash Claims Lives of Pilot Landon Baldwin, Wife, and Four Others

On June 8, 2025, a twin-engine Cessna 414 crashed into the Pacific Ocean near San Diego’s Point Loma, killing all six people on board. Among the victims were pilot Landon Baldwin and his wife Torrie, both in their 20s from Safford, Arizona, leaving behind two young children.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed no survivors. The plane, returning from Arizona to Phoenix, encountered trouble shortly after takeoff. Landon reported difficulty maintaining altitude and requested to land at a nearby naval airport but lost contact after calling “Mayday” several times.

Witnesses described the plane descending rapidly into the water nose-first. Aviation experts believe spatial disorientation was likely a factor, with no evidence of mechanical failure.
