She expressed frustration over the perceived decline in intellectual discourse, stating, “These people are just idiots… the level of stupidity they are displaying every single day is frankly embarrassing.”

Omar’s remarks have ignited online backlash, with critics accusing her of disparaging the electorate and the nation that granted her asylum from Somalia. Conservative commentator Matt Walsh highlighted her background, noting Somalia’s challenges, and criticized her “snobbish disdain” for the U.S.
