Naomi Campbell is perhaps one of the best known models in the world. The superstar became a mother much later in life and is now opening up about how that happened after she turned 50 years old.

Naomi Campbell is finally being candid about her journey to motherhood. In an interview, the British model confirmed that she had welcomed both her children via surrogate.

She welcomed her daughter, who is now 3 years old, at the age of 51, while her son, who is 11 months old, she welcomed at 53 years old.

For the first time, the 54-year-old model was very candid about her journey as a mother. She said, “My babies are everything to me. It’s made me fear for the future,” The model said, “I did. I hope for a better world for my children.”

Campbell shared her first priority, “They are 110 percent my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day at school.”

The self-proclaimed “single mum of a single mum” said that while she has lived the last few decades of her life in the spotlight, she does not feel inclined to do the same thing for her children.

“I’m not sure I would let her start working at 15. It’s a ruthless world,” Campbell said in the interview.

The 54-year-old model has not revealed her children’s names to the public and has also made sure she never posts them on social media, hiding their faces from the public.

Even when she posted for British Vogue in 2022, she kept her daughter’s face obscured from the camera.

She said in the Vogue interview, “She [my daughter] wasn’t adopted – she’s my child…But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

In May 2021, she announced the birth of her daughter.

“A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honored to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel,” she wrote under the picture she posted of her daughter’s feet “There is no greater love.”

In June 2023, the supermodel shared the addition of her second child, her baby boy.

In the announcement she wrote, “My little darling, know that you are cherished beyond measure and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence,” Campbell captioned a now-deleted photo. “A True Gift from God 🙏🏾, blessed ! Welcome Babyboy. 💙🍼✨ #mumoftwo ❤️💙.”

In a short interview during 2023 Victoria’s Secret’s New York Fashion Week show, she told the media how her children were oblivious to their mother’s stardom.

“I have no idea,” she said when she was asked what she learns her kids should learn from her career. “They don’t care about what mama does.”
